Simple Apple Crisp Recipe

Every summer, we get tons of apples in our backyard. We have two apple trees that produce hundreds of apples. We make many things from the apples but my favorite is Apple Crisp. I especially enjoy the texture of the oatmeal mixed with the carmalized cinnamon flavored apples. This recipe works best with slightly tart apples. Our home grown apples are normally on the sour end. However, if your apples are sweeter, a bit of lime juice can be added with sweeter store bought apples.

Another thing about Apple Crisp is the smell. It is truly divine. I'm pretty sure I'm drooling everytime I get the smell of Apple Crisp baking. That has to be in my top 10 list of favorite smells.

Anyways, let's get baking! You'll need about 8 cups of apples. You can choose to peel them or leave them as is. However, peeled apples will give a better texture. You can cut up the apple into cubes, slices, or however you prefer. For me, I like cutting the apples into medium sized cubes. This is by far the most time consuming part, but the end result is worth working for.
